With love and sadness, we announce the sudden passing of William Robert Sweet. Bob is survived by his loving wife Barbara, son Frank (Ella) and daughters Lynda (Perry) and Patricia (Bryan); grandchildren Stephan, Shonna, Matthew and Bryana, great-grandchildren Rayah and Rilyn and step-grandchildren Frankie-J and Kallum. Bob was born in Marmora, ON and graduated from Queen's University in 1954. He started his career at Bethlehem Steel in Marmora, moved onto various positions with Noranda including a 12 year stay at Mattabi in Ignace, ON. The latter part of his career took him to Fort McMurray with Suncor and on to Vernon, BC in retirement. Bob loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, skiing and golfing. He became quite the square dancer in his later years and spent many happy hours in his woodworking shop.
Arrangements are being handled by the Vernon Funeral Home. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
