Willy Brian Schmidt passed away suddenly on August 23rd, 2016 at his home in Enderby, BC at the age of 65. Willy was born in Ocean Falls, BC on October 18, 1950 to the late Fred and Zula Schmidt. His family moved to North Delta when he was two years old. He later graduated from North Delta Secondary school in 1968.

Willy married Judy Krisko in 1972 and they settled in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast in 1974 to raise their three sons. He worked as a journeyman millwright for Howe Sound Pulp and Paper for almost 30 years. He was a talented handyman with the ability to take on many renovation projects.

He later retired to a quiet life in Enderby and loved exploring the Okanagan and Kootenays. Willy learned to play the piano as a young boy and was a very talented musician with a lifelong passion for music. His love for Jazz music continued into his later years. He loved baseball and hockey and was a true fan of his beloved Toronto Blue Jays and Vancouver Canucks. One of his many hobbies was taking pictures and home movies of his young family and friends.

Willy is survived by his three sons: Jody (Tara), Jesse (Lien) and Miles (Katie) and his brother Tim Schmidt. He has five grandchildren: Kaylie, Jenna, Madeleine, Andrew and Mattias who he cared for dearly. He will be deeply missed by many family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:30pm on Saturday October 22nd at Clayton Hall, 18513 - 70th Ave, Surrey B.C.
