The Atom Development tournament committee would like to thank all of the amazing local businesses and personal donors that took time out of their day to rush over and help out our kids. We were so overwhelmed with the generosity and help we got, it was amazing.
We had posted on Facebook what had happened (raffle basket theft) and that we needed help fast.
We had about four hours until the teams started showing up at the Civic Arena to start playing, and we got responses within minutes. In under 15 minutes of getting the word out there, Braden Robertson Construction had showed up with a cheque to help and the Wet Spot Dog store came in with a basket donation.
We were blown away.
We had a little boy from our Vernon Initiation teams come in with his piggie bank money to try and help so these kids could have a great tourney.
There were so many people who came in on their own and donated money or just went out and shopped and brought items for us to use.
Not only did our community rally behind us, but the hockey communities of some of the travelling teams got together to help as well.
The Langley Eagles and Kamloops Blazers stepped up and made donations to help. It just shows how close knit these communities really are.
The incredible help we received brought in more then enough to keep this tournament running and the kids excited about the whole weekend.
Some people went above and beyond this weekend and we hope everyone can see what a great community we live in and how thankful not only the committee is, and the hockey players involved, but every parent, and supporter as well.
