LNG spells trouble

Resident has concerns about greenhouse gases and provincial policy

Does it strike anyone else as reckless behaviour that the day the United Nations Paris Agreement on Climate Change goes into affect, is the same day Christy Clark announces the go ahead of a LNG terminal at Woodfibre?

The LNG processing and export terminal will be a major emitter of greenhouse gases in B.C., making it harder to meet our binding commitments under the Paris agreement.

In addition, the province is cutting the price of our green hydro electricity so this dinosaur industry can use it to emit those greenhouse gases.

The rationale is we can sell the LNG to China.

But China is busy leaping past natural gas, and us, to become the world leader in wind and solar energy.

What will our children say?

Shaking my head.
