In response to the lady that wrote in about the owls.
This is absolutely senseless, how can a conservation officer say those owls could fend for themselves when they are trapped with no way out of something that was human-caused?
I also am surprised that the by-law officer did not just come and cut the lock and let the poor things out, why did he have to call anyone?
That poor baby owl died as a result and as the lady said who knows what became of the poor mom?
I just don’t understand the logic behind the conservation officer's unwillingness to do anything, I thought they were supposed to help wildlife? Very sad outcome.
I do hope the lady follows up with the City of Vernon to make sure that crack is fixed so this does not happen to any other poor bird.
