Slow down

Resident wants a traffic signal at Highway 97and Stickle Road

We moved to Vernon in July of 2004. Every time we go north on Highway 97 and drive at 90 kilometres an hour, cars are always passing us. I don't understand what's the big deal about a traffic light at Highway 97 and Stickle Road. A year ago, we drove to Winnipeg for a wedding. We found seven traffic lights on the Trans Canada Highway (four lane, 100-km highway). A little town called Redcliffe, Alta. has two traffic lights, one at each end of town. What is wrong with having one more on Highway 97 in Vernon? It would help slow the speeders down.
