Jake Pelletier supplied 2+2 as the Butcher Boys Red Wings upended the Winfield Bruins 6-2 in Pee Wee Super Hockey League play Saturday.

Brooke Berube was a force in front and earned 1+2. Brendan Horsfield added 1+2 and Keefer Kaempf also scored in front of stellar Cole Benjaminsen.

The Authentic Plaque and Trophy Hitmen won three weekend games to move into fourth place in the North Okanagan Super Bantam Hockey League.

The Hitmen opened by outgunning the Scotiabank Scorpions 14-10 with the dynamic duo of Brett Jewell and Brenden Zupp accounting for 12 goals, Zupp earning 7+4 and Jewell supplying 5+2 Friday night at Priest Valley Arena.

Dustin Schmor and Adam Tyk also scored for the Hitmen, while Brock Wagner led Scotiabank with four goals, Aaron Keryluke and Rowyn Lewis-Hatherley bagged two each and singles went to Nik Negraiff and Solomon Ivanoff.

Girl power sparked the Hitmen in a 6-3 victory Saturday over the host Lumby Stars.

Brooke Toop fired two goals and Hannah Scherck scored once and set up another, while Zupp had 2+1 and Jewell one goal. Lumby’s goals were scored by Keenan MacDonald, Reid Hackett and Logan Meier, with two assists coming from Connor Fair.

The Hitmen closed their big weekend Sunday morning with a 13-5 victory over the last-place Chase Broncos at PV.

Zupp counted 6+2, while Liam Semeniuk bagged 2+3 and new scoring whiz, Scherck, turned in a hat trick plus a helper. Steady d-man Ryan Pelkey, finally found the back of the net in the third, after many great chances. He also had two assists.

Rounding out the scoring for the 9-6-2 Hitmen was smooth skating d-man Liam Cromarty. Hard-working Tylor McMillan earned four assists. Joe Tronson picked up all three wins in goal.

The Scorpions rebounded with a pair of wins after losing to the Hitmen, holding off the North Okanagan Knights 6-4 Saturday morning at Nor-Val Sports Centre.

Aaron Keryluke opening the scoring and finished with 2+1 for Scotiabank (8-8), singles going to Ben Aspenlieder on a feed from burly winger Cole Adams, Wagner, Landon Munk and Solomon Ivanoff on a solo rink-length rush. Trey Spanier was solid in net.

The Scorpions stuffed the third-place Salmon Arm Finch & Co. Warriors 5-1 in one of their best games of the season Sunday in Sicamous.

Bryce Sandau gave the Warriors the lead before the Scorpions took over, Jeremy Pogue equalizing on a nice feed from Tom Wolgram.

Devin Prizmic put Scotiabank ahead to stay on a nice redirect from Keryluke. Wagner, unassisted, made it 3-1, before Lewis-Hatherley potted two to seal things. Erin Banning picked up a helper on Hatherley’s second goal and was stellar on defence along with Megan Johnston, Munk and Ivanoff.

The Stars battled to a 2-2 tie with the DCT Chambers Red Bulls Sunday.

Tireless Keenan MacDonald and newbie Max Whitcomb scored for Lumby in support of Corey Tinney. Mark Trznadel and Landon Ehnes replied for the Bulls.

The first-place Denny’s Saints blew a 4-2 lead and settled for a 4-4 tie with the Warriors Friday night.

First star Kristian Currie scored twice for the 15-1-1 Saints, while Lucas Colgan and Chris Gallant added singles. Layne Greene and Marcus Finn each provided two helpers.

The Vernon Battery Seagulls went 2-1-1 in the Enderby Midget Rec Tournament to finish the season at 10 -3 -2 over a four-tourney span.

The Gulls opened by grounding Ridge Meadows 7-5 with Dustin Folliott, Brett Vandale and Clifford High each scoring twice and Justin Ramsey once. Luke Vandale and Rodger Sewell shared the win.

Brett Vandale (2), Tyson Clark (1+2), Bradley David and Folliott handled the Gulls’ attack in a 5-5 tie with Salmon Arm After-Shock.

In game three, the Gulls got four goals from High in a 9-5 victory over Merritt. Clark (2), Natalie Johnston, Ramsey and Folliott also scored.

The Gulls bowed 5-4 in a shootout to Hope in semifinal action Sunday.

High, Ramsey David and Ward Mercer had goals for the Gulls, who appeared to score the winner in overtime, but the referee ruled no goal although it seemed a Hope player dislodged the net. In the five-man shootout, Hope scored twice. Sean Connors replied for the Gulls. Sewell was spectacular in net.

In regular Midget Super League play, Lumby, sponsored by Gorman Bros. and R. J. Schunter Contracting, ambushed the Vernon Advertising Works Broad Street Bullies 12-2 Saturday.

Kyle Weston earned a hat-trick for the Stars, while Clayton Ricketts (2+3), Darcy Schenkeveld (2+2), and Rodney Thompson (2+1) also had productive nights. Wyatt Warnes, Chandler Porteous and Cory Hug each added singles. Brad Jones and Russ Hickman replied for the Bullies.

On Sunday, the Stars again cranked up their offence in a 9-3 victory over the Vernon Seed Orchard Ducks. Ricketts (3+2) and Schenkeveld (3+1) led the Stars, while Justin Burk added two and Rodney Thompson scored once in support of Mike Britch. Hayden Pasacreta (2) and Nick Gallant answered for the Ducks.
