This weekend, Vernon will host the Queen of Hearts Zone Championships Friday to Sunday at the Vernon Recreation Centre auditorium.
Girls aged five-to-18 will compete in Free, Hoop, Rope, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon categories, and are judged for difficulty and execution of skills.

Several members of the Canadian National Team will be competing, including Isabella Haldane and Jaedyn Andreotti of the Vernon-based Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics Club.

Fans can go and cheer on the competitors for free. You can show your appreciation for a gymnast by tossing a stuffed animal onto the carpet after their performance. They are available at the rec centre for purchase alongside delicious food and raffle items.
Competition times are Friday 12 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For an incredible showcase of this year’s talent, be sure to grab a seat for the always-popular Gala taking place at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
