A Mothers Day event filled with cupcakes, horses and violin music is coming to the Okanagan.
Hosted by Horse Drawn Okanagan, Cupcakes and Clydesdales is a unique, hour and a half long function, where guests will be in the company of six Clydesdales horses, while enjoying live music by violinist Galen Schram. There will also be tea and fresh cupcakes served.
Kelly MacIntosh, owner and event coordinator, said that her company typically hosted wagon and sleigh rides, but wanted a more intimate experience to celebrate Mothers Day.
“We want to offer this opportunity for guests to spend some time with the horses, petting them, talking to them, and just enjoying their company,” said MacIntosh. “Horses bond with people in a very special way. Sometimes horses help us connect emotionally, and to have a violinist amongst the horses, wow, it’s going to be a wonderful afternoon.”
There are two seating times for the event, at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Tickets are $40, and limited to 20 guests at a time. Guests are invited to dress up, with the best dressed being given a hanging basket as a prize.
The wheelchair accessible venue is located at 4735 Grandview Flats Rd in Armstrong.
