PHOTOS: Canada Day celebrated in style in Vernon, Armstrong

Hundreds turned out for events marking country’s 155th birthday

There was no shortage of ways to celebrate this fine country Friday, July 1.

Canada Day celebrations were ramped up, after two years of COVID-19 cancellations.

In Vernon, the North Okanagan Canada Day Society didn’t go ahead with fireworks but instead filled Polson Park with music, activities, a market, food trucks and more.

Armstrong also filled Memorial Park with activities and entertainment all day and night.

A celebration took place at Westshore Community Park off Westside Road.

The Historic O’Keefe Ranch roped in a day full of fun.

And Davison Orchard also made a big deal out of celebrating Canada’s 155th birthday.

“The day was perfect to celebrate Canada’s Birthday at Davison Orchards: awesome weather, the sound of piano music, festive attire of red and white, singing our Canadian National Anthem together again, Canadian flags flying in the gentle breeze and free chocolate cake,” said the Davison family, who were honoured to invited the community up for the special day.
