Without the help of many volunteers and community supporters, the Literacy Society would not be able to provide these services to the community.

“We are very grateful for the support of the Vernon Morning Star who went above and beyond for the Raise-a-Reader campaign, contributing $6,000 to our programs,” said Wendy Aasen, outreach coordinator for the Society.

In addition to the Vernon Morning Star donation, support from community donors and the Adult Spelling Bee Team Challenge fundraiser participants raised a total of $60,000 which was topped up by the Province of BC through the Raise-a-Reader campaign for a total of $96,000.

The Literacy Society gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, the Postmedia Raise-a-Reader Campaign, and Decoda Literacy Solutions.
