School extinguishes blaze behind Vernon’s Fulton Secondary

The 30 x 20 foot fire was safely attended by school personnel and Vernon Fire Rescue Services

Quick thinking by students and staff led to the quick extinguishing of a small fire near Vernon’s Fulton Secondary.

A fire broke out behind the school, near Fulton Road early afternoon on Tuesday, April 9.

The blaze, approximately 30 feet by 20 feet in total size, was attended to by members of the school with a fire extinguisher.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services attended the scene with extinguishers, but had little work to do as it was safely put out.

No cause has been given yet to the reason behind the fire.
