UPDATE: Scooter rider sustains non-life threatening injuries in Vernon crash

Ambulance and RCMP called to 48th Avenue, near Anderson Way, Thursday

A person riding a scooter was struck on 48th Avenue Thursday.

Ambulance and Vernon Fire Rescue were called to the incident around 1:30 p.m. April 18 near Anderson Way.

A vehicle was exiting a parking lot on 48th while a man on a scooter was on the sidewalk.

“The driver of the vehicle did not see the e-scooter until the last minute and collided with the man knocking him to the ground,” said Cpl. Tania Finn, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer. “The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with police.”

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
