Neuron Scooters

According to Vernon operations manager for Neuron, Christopher Carroll, 10 per cent of scooters are typically lost per year, however so far in Vernon, there have been none.

The vandalism rate was also low, with just minor issues that are “easily fixable” according to Carroll.

Business survey

Among the main takeaways were, for 30 per cent of companies, their biggest challenge is finding employees.

Coun. Akbal Mund found that information hard to believe.

“I’m struggling with that (information). Maybe you can send the businesses my way and I can get a finders fee for finding employees because I have had no issues since I have opened,” Mund said, as he is also the general manager of Triple O’s on 27th Street. “I get 2o applications a week.”

LED lights on airport

New lights are going to be up at the Vernon airport.

Council passed the motion to upgrade the LED lighting on the airport runway, at a cost not to exceed $100,000.

Funds will be reallocated from the Apron Rehabilitation Project, which was a project that finished $307,000 under budget in May of 2023.
