Wildfire east of Armstrong listed early as out of control

The B.C. Wildfire Service is reporting a new wildfire burning east of Armstrong Friday morning, May 19.

The fire is being called Alderson Creek with no hectare size listed as of 10:45 a.m. Friday.

The BCWS website shows the fire was discovered Friday at around 8 a.m.

It’s listed as out of control which, according to BCWS terminology, is “a wildfire that is continuing to spread and is not responding to suppression efforts.”

The cause is under investigation.
