Vernon youth bowler powers way to B.C. title

Vernon’s Axl wheeled to a youth bowling provincial title.

Axl Rachwalski of Lincoln Lanes won the Bantam Boys division at the Youth Bowl Championship provincial singles Nov. 11 at Scottsdale Lanes in Surrey.

Rachwalski bowled a six-game total of 891 for a 148 average to win the B.C. banner. He’ll represent the province in the Bantam Boys division at the national singles championships in Ottawa in May.

Bantams are aged 8-10 and bowled six games at the provincials. Juniors (11-14) and Seniors (15-19) each bowled eight games.

Two other Lincoln Lanes bowlers returned with silver medals.

Colton Dranchuk was second in the Junior Boys division, rolling an eight-game total of 1,641 for a 205 average.

Aryssa Matsen was the runner-up in Pins Over Average for the Senior Girls. She was 126 over her average.
