Police wages

Thank you for alerting readers to the financial injustice being done to the Vernon RCMP members.

Concerns

There are so many religions to be aware of and consider that religious biases have been the cause of so much cruelty and misery.

Impaired drivers

In response to Noel Tyler’s article, I agree that Canada is too lenient on drunk drivers. I lost my son to a drunk driver. Being easy on someone who deliberately breaks the law and kills someone in the process is ludicrous. It’s the same with texting and driving.

Justice

If justice were about punishment rather than rehabilitation, this would not be a Christian country, and almost all of us living in Canada today would be in jail as punishment for the crimes committed against native peoples on this land, including genocidal murder and illegal land theft.

Pickleball needs a home

Starting in May, myself, my wife and about 400 other pickleballers will begin playing outside again and, most unfortunately, upsetting neighbours living close to where we are required to play. This is not our choice. We have no option but to play where Coldstream, Vernon and the regional district paint lines for eight pickleball courts in the space occupied by two existing tennis courts.

Honest people

There are still some honest people in this world.

Thank you

On April 27, I filled my vehicle at the Real Canadian Superstore gas bar, not noticing that my wallet had dropped from my pocket.

Great downtown

I would like to commend the City of Vernon for the wonderful benches and the conversation areas within the downtown area.

Thank you

On April 10, my mama and I were crossing the street in front of the main post office. I stepped into a pothole and took a tumble.

Newspaper criticized

First, I want to make it clear that this letter has been sent May 7, two days before the provincial election, and is inspired entirely because of The Morning Star’s choice of what to print and when.
